[MPlayer-users] MPlayer can't play Matroska files

Recently, I got some files in the Matroska format and tried to open them with 
MPlayer. They got recognized as an RAWDV stream and obviously it didn't work. 
Then I used -demuxer 31 and -v options and it gave me the following results:

and the file didn't play. I tested it with MPlayer 1.0-pre3 and MPlayer-CVS 
20040205 for Linux using the internal and external (using Matroska libraries) 
demuxer.

The strange thing is, that MPlayer 1.0-pre3 for Windows plays mkv files 
without a problem.

I'm using Gentoo Linux

Ok, now I've got an even stranger situation... on my user account - the movie 
doesn't play, on my root account - the same... but when I do:

su - root

and then:

su cobra

the movie plays ! And when I do:

su - root

and:

su - cobra

it doesn't !
