They are reliable and don't reset anywhere - at least the tools I know
about produce such files, so a binary search will work. The 'problem' is
that no one cares enough to implement it, I guess :) You can always skip
over such a point by using some bigger seek value (I have -10s and -60s
on some keys, and -60s will always work even if -10s gets stuck).
