just to report that i continued trying and eventually got something else.
instead of saying:

mplayerplug-in
Playing TheFile.mov

it sais:

mplayerplug-in
Cache fill 0.00% (0 bytes)


it has been like that for the last 5 min...

as far as my memory - top sais i have more than 100 mb free - this machine
has 256...

so....  should i feel lucky?
