better quality, but slower:

-ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mepg4:mbd=2:v4mv:vqscale=2:trell

you might  want  to add 'autoaspect' to the lavcopts too.

.. and probably add black borders and reduce quality even further, but 
ah well, you'll discover what happens :-)
