[MPlayer-users] Xvid encoding

I'm having problems encoding with xvid:

cat ./*vob|mencoder -oac copy -ovc xvid -xvidencopts 
pass=1:vhq:qpel:divx5bvop:hq_ac:psnr -o output.avi -aid 128

I get this error message:
 > File not found: 'frameno.avi'
 > Failed to open frameno.avi

But it works perfectly when I use the lavc video codec.

Xvid does not seem to understand the suboption 4mv either (which is 
listed in the manual).

I use a cvs build of mplayer and 1.0.0-beta3 of the xvid codec, both 
compiled from source using debians fakeroot command.
