The manpage isn't up to date regarding xvid beta3. In beta3, 4mv is 
turned on if me_quality is high enough, I believe. Look at 
libmpcodecs/ve_xvid4.c, scroll down to m_option_t xvidencopts_conf[] =
and you'll find the array of valid options.
