[MPlayer-users] Help Needed

HI Folks
I have installed Mplayer (Gui version) om redhat 9 Kernl Version is
2.4.20-8 
My vga card is (ATI Rage Iic)
it is working ok for audio file but when i tried VCD and DVD it gives me
a message that it is not able to intialize/open video output device
(-VO) the directory of ?dev/dvd was not created
My libc version  this was the result
