Beeing short, setting ofps is the right thing to do; it improves
quality. Mplayer reversed hardware telecine for you, fps is now 23.976,
and if you won't specify it in -ofps, you'll only get jerkness in
motion and loose quality.

If mplayer doesn't switch back to 29.97 in the middle of encoding, be
glad that your DVD was fully hardware telecined.
