Hello,
I have a two Pinnacle PCTV Pro tuners working in a Slackware 10.0 box.
Starting with kernel 2.6.3 my tuners appears as sound card 0 and 1, the
Creative Live! player as sound card 2 and C-media onboard Asus A7M as sound
card 3:
0: bt87x
1: bt87x
2: snd-emu10k1
3: snd-cmipci
I have OSS emulation enabled by a script in /etc/rc.d, won't need any
modules.conf parms for the alsa drivers.
My object was to grab audio without use of the patch cables. But why can't
the Live! player appear as sound card 0 (first sound card or /dev/dsp0)?
I've tried to rename the module bt87x.ko to something else (I used
petremorgen.ko), reboot and named it back plus depmod -a. Of course bt87x
wouldn't load but the tuners came up as the two first sound cards at the
next reboot...
I'm also looking for a boot parameter in LILO to prevent the tuners from
being discovered until the modules are provided at boot.
Btw here's my original script for grabbing programs.

Of course I had to modify the sound line heavily on the new Slackware.
mencoder fails to use /dev/snd/pcmC2D3 or "device=hw#2.3". Before I go in
any deeper I'd like my soundcards at slot 0 and 1 please. Any ideas?
Regards,
Roger Andreassen.
