I looked at this and yes they are very similar
but he has two seperate changes (patches) in the same file.
1. has something to do with languages which I am not sure about issue or fix.
 This is unrelated to what I was fixing and should be tested/applied seperately.

2. the other  part is the same changes I coded again myself while fixing 
 issue reported in this message thread.
 this patch piece has the same logic with sligtly different code 
 (nothing other than cosmetic AFAIK).
 
At least we now have some independant verification of it fixing an issue.
