[MPlayer-users] Encoding only a range of frames

Hello,

Let's say I have a big AVI and only want mencoder to encode (or copy) a
part of the movie into a new avi. How do I give it a range of frames to
encode?

On reading the manpage, I only found -frames, described as "Play/convert
only first <number> frames, then quit." But what if I dont want to start
at the beginning?
