[MPlayer-users] Cannot initalise/open audio device.

Hello,
I'm quite new to mplayer
I want to watch a VCD, on a computer that have many users logged in
simultaneously (the others are logged in via XDCMP -over the LAN-, and
they dont use the soundcard)
I'm the only one to directly login on the computer.

When I launch the VCD playing, it tells me it cannot initalise/open
audio device, though :
ls -l /dev/dsp
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 9 Jul  3 19:34 /dev/dsp -> /dev/dsp0
ls -l /dev/dsp0
crw-rw-rw-  1 root audio 14, 3 Jul  3 19:34 /dev/dsp0

So ... what's wrong ?
It uses ALSA as audio output.
