I did look at the man page and it doesn't stated how to rename. That's why I am seeking for answer through mailing list. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

i am almost 100% its possible cuz i remeber taking about 5000 frames
in that format to make gifs. i am sure it it can be done but i don't
think you can eliminate the 0001. try to find an option that can let
you decide the number of cahrachters.
