Ooops! Well at least that gives me a chance to say, to one of mplayer's
developers: "Thank you very much"! :-) One of the things I love the most
about "free"/"open source" is getting the chance to talk to people who
write excellent software (I didn't get a reply out M$ in 5 years of
trying)

"ldd /usr/bin/mplayer | grep libavcodec" gives:
libavcodec-cvs.so => /usr/lib/libavcodec-cvs.so (0x4003c000)

This shared library comes from the libavcodeccvs package at:
ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/
(and its version field says: Version: 2:20050208-0.0)

I'm happy to wait until the next release of the shared library is
available from Mr Marillat. Reimar: once again, thank you.
