Here's a related question:

I have already copied a DVD with
    mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -vobsubout X -o X.avi dvd://1
and I can play it fine (mplayer -vobsub X X.avi)
but how do I know recode it into mpeg4? mencoder doesn't accept the -vobsub
option.
