Thank you greatly. That worked perfectly and the dumped
stream as well as a normal feed of the radio station now plays
correctly.

To clear up a bit of confusion I caused, I actually did play
the stream.dump file by mplayer stream.dump originally. I mistakenly
put the -playlist directive in my message.

This appears to be some stupidity on my part. I had
originally gotten
MPlayer-20040201.tar.bz2 from
ftp://ftp5.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer

several months ago instead of MPlayer-1.0pre7.tar.bz2 which I
now use. AT the time, DOCS/EN contained a CVS directory and no source
documentation. I then went looking for English documentation and found

http://web.njit.edu/all_topics/Prog_Lang_Docs/html/mplayer/

I didn't realize that when I upgraded to MPlayer-1.0pre7 that
the English documentation is right there in DOCS/HTML/EN.

Using the documentation I did find, I looked for anything to
do with libavcodec and failed to hit any pay dirt relating to my
actual problem. The codec messages did mention divx2 and I tried -vc
divx4 with no change and the other vc flags I already mentioned.

I am a little embarrassed but at least I know now that there
is documentation in English in the MPlayer-1.0pre7 distribution.
