Sounds like you're having some problem with ODML.  You can encode files with "-noodml" and probably solve your problem for files up to 4GBs...

Or, better yet, try a CVS snapshot.  A significant ODML bug was fixed soon after 1.0pre6 was released, so upgrading to CVS would be a more correct solution to the problem...
