Sounds like you aren't deinterlacing, but in the example you posted, lavcdeint should be doing that.  Is that the exact command-line you are using?

You might want to try removing lavcdeint from your "-vf" options, and replace it with "pp=md" or some other deinterlacer.  Perhaps that will solve your problem.

You can adjust that.  Use keys 1 or 2 for less/more contrast, 3  or 4 for brightness, 5 or 6 for hue, 7 or 8 for Saturation.  This is assuming you are using "-vo xv" or *vidix.
