You're right. The version of 12 Oct 12:00 doesn't crash. while the one of 14 
Oct does.

hmm, this is my PC @work and I have no clue how to install another version on 
SuSE (don't want to make experiments here)...
This may sound strange since I compile mplayer from CVS, but I need newest 
versions because I work with H.264.

I looked at the code and it seems that the problem sits in Assembler code. 
That's too "high" for me :-)

If I can do something else to help, let me know.
