[MPlayer-users] Keeping A/V sync

Hi,
I am converting some real files to xvid avi files and some of them lose 
A/V sync at some points but then re-gain it.  Any tips on keeping this 
from happening?  Anthing I should know specific to the real -> xvid 
convertsion?

A typical command line looks like this:
mencoder input.rm -o output.avi -ovc xvid -xvidencopts pass=1 -oac lavc 
-lavcopts acodec=mp2:abitrate=64 -srate 48000
