Why, there are:
maximum XvImage size: 4096 x 4096
I guess even 128Mb X1300 (~ $60) card can do such resolution. Of course,
you still should think twice before byuing ATI card when you use linux..
On the other hand, if you want 1600x1200 analog output even $160 Geforce
6600GT will have much worse picture than $60 ATI card, be that 9600,
X600 or X130 - I've seen this many times, even if it's from good
manufacturers like MSI or Leadtek it can still have worse 2D than Radeon
from some almost noname chineese brand..
Also you can see funny things like
maximum XvImage size: 2046 x 2046
on geforce. Lol.
