I have uploaded Problem.zip to the directory you provided. The
zipfile contains a 6-minut clip of an .avi file which can be used to
illustrate the issue. In the first 3 minutes, there are several
fade-to-black-and-back chunks between scenes and there is a "logo
flyin" as well. In the next three minutes, there are no such
fade-to-black-and-back chunks and no "logo flyin." I have also
included two series of commands, one which results in the .mpg which
gets progressively worse -- 3 minutes of the file, after skipping the
first five seconds -- and one which stays in sync the whole time -- 3
minutes of the file, after skipping the first two minutes and 31
seconds of the file.

You can just run the files with sh -x ./Steps-shows-problem.txt and
sh -x ./Steps-no-problem.txt, respectively.

Please let me know if there's something else I can do to provide more
information, or if you want another example .avi.

Thank you, and have a great day!
