Below are the PSNR values you requested both from MPlayer 1.0pre7try2 and
MPlayer 1.0pre8 using the same XviD library. I used the War Of The Worlds DVD
to encode 60 sec. of video to the XviD format.

MPlayer 1.0pre8 values:

The value 99.99dB is a special value and represents the upper range limit
xvid:     Min PSNR y : 38.36 dB, u : 46.93 dB, v : 47.46 dB, in frame 1498
xvid: Average PSNR y : 43.80 dB, u : 47.42 dB, v : 48.44 dB, for 1501 frames
xvid:     Max PSNR y : 67.88 dB, u : 64.25 dB, v : 64.25 dB, in frame 0

MPlayer 1.0pre7try2 values:

The value 99.99dB is a special value and represents the upper range limit
xvid:     Min PSNR y : 38.69 dB, u : 47.80 dB, v : 48.12 dB, in frame 1502
xvid: Average PSNR y : 43.79 dB, u : 47.35 dB, v : 48.41 dB, for 1504 frames
