[MPlayer-users] VDecoder init failed

I copied a DVD disc to a local directory.

mplayer    dvd://1  -nolirc  -nojoystick     -dvd-device /video/LIBERTY   -vo xv

The Result:

Any suggestions on how to deal with this "VDecoder init failed"?

FYI, some details:
Video card = S3 ViRGE
Resolution = 800x600
Color Depth = Millions of Colors
Monitor = NEC MultiSync XV15+
