ok, so the VTSM entries can be dropped, since no one wants menus.

I still have VTS_VOBS, which tell me "16:9 only letterboxed" on my 
anamorphic 16:9 DVDs, and "16:9 pan&scan+letterboxed" on my 
Pan&Scan-enabled Raging Bull DVD. With original 4:3 content I don't know 
(yet), I'll have to check it out later.

couldn't be a switch like -trust_ifo_aspect_ratio be made to accomodate 
this behavior? I'll delve into my collection to find out a bit of 
statistical backing for this theory, with around 500 DVDs of all sorts 
(PAL/NTSC, 4:3, 16:9, P&S) something should come forward...
