[MPlayer-users] how to convert video to pgm images

OK, something like:

$ mplayer -vo png -ss 01:13:00 -frames 20 -sstep 1 dvd://1

.. seems to do roughly what I was after.

Dumps 20 frames to png files at 1 second intervals, one hour and thirteen
minutes into the DVD.

Perhaps there are better, more flexible techniques .. not sure if the
"slave" mode or using config files might help?
