[MPlayer-users] subtitle missing

I'm trying to play a dvd with mplayer under Debian with subtitles, but I get
no subtitles.

Here's my command line:

mplayer -alang en -slang hu dvd://1

I tried the -font option, also linked a font to ~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf

(/home/istvan/.mplayer/subfont.ttf ->
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts/Verdana.ttf),

but I still get no subtitles. I tried the -dumpsrtsub (actually, the
dump*sub family of) option(s), but no subfont file seemed to be created
either.

Kaffeine plays the subtitles neatly, I can switch them on/off while playing.


Any hints?
