[MPlayer-users] playing file from a remote server to its monitor

Hi guys ,

I have one videoserver that have installed ubuntu 8.04 desktop edition
and latest mplayer from the ubuntu repository.



I want to connect to this server via ssh , and launch mplayer to playing
a file , and sending the output to the server's screen .

The server has gnome installed , and so x11.

I do this command

#mplayer /root/72.mpg -vo help

I try all this driver on newer I can see the video on the server monitor
. The audio works well , but the video not.

During my try i follow 2 way:

1 ) to have root user logged in the gnome and , from another pc , in the
ssh console

2) only to have logged the user in the ssh console


And the result are the same , no video but audio.

Instead if I use this command in a gnome terminal panel:

mplayer file.mpg -vo x11

all is ok.


Can you help me please?
