Hi,

[Reposting a problem that haven't been solved]

I am having problem trying to do x264 encoding with mencoder, and
nobody seems to know the answer, or care to answer:

When using mencoder to covert videos to x264/mp3 format, the
audio stream is shorter than the video stream. E.g.,

 Video stream: 196.012 kbit/s (24501 B/s) size: 656639 bytes 26.800 secs 405 frames
 Audio stream: 46.635 kbit/s (5829 B/s) size: 140184 bytes 24.048 secs

or,

 Video stream: 712.690 kbit/s (89086 B/s) size: 1532284 bytes 17.200
secs 261 frames
 Audio stream: 46.772 kbit/s (5846 B/s) size: 85032 bytes 14.544 secs

The whole bug report was at,
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.mplayer.user/61853

I've since written many unsolicited email to people I found on
the Internet who had done some x264 encoding before. Of all the
people that replied, they have all confirmed the above problem,
some were compiling mplayer/mencoder right from svn before
trying.

I am pleading everyone, no matter if you've done x264 encoding
before, please try the following command with a (short) clip of
yours:

 mencoder -of avi -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=48:vol=2.2 -ovc x264 -srate 8000 -o imgp2163-.avi imgp2163.avi

Based on my off-list discussion, I'm positive that you will have
shorter audio stream as well.

Please help.
Thanks a lot!
