Come again? It is end-of-life? I thought there just was a new release? 
It has many advantages over ffmpeg and works just as fine (vorbis 
excluded) for VP8. What is Reimar then doing? It looks to me like he is 
maintaining it.

When I check it out from svn I see the number being bumped all the time. 
Can you clarify this?
