Since I don't think the problem originates in scaletempo, this probably
won't fix the root issue - but it's possible it helps get rid of the
symptom. Will give it a try as soon as I can get a Windows 32-bit binary.
Looks like this rev just missed the last build, so I'll have to wait a
bit. Though if anyone builds it sooner and can provide a link to download,
that would be appreciated.

Whenever you have time, it's no rush.
I'm thinking a test with audio that consists of a 0.1hz sawtooth or such,
due to the long and predictable waveform, would allow easy verification of
whether the audio defects really are from earlier in the stream. And if
so, it would also reveal exactly how much earlier, which may provide a clue
into where the issue lies. I may do such a test myself in the next few
Also repeated my last test, but with Ubuntu 12.04 running in Virtualbox,
just out of curiosity. The clicks occurred there too.
