[MPlayer-users] How to get mplayer to send correct output to USB DAC?

You should be able to direct the audio output from mplayer just as you are
doing it with the gnome settings. Select the correct sound driver (in your
case I guess either alsa or pulse, probably pulse) and then make sure to
point it to the correct output device. Look up documentation for alsa or
pulse for the correct syntax. Good luck.
