Maybe go through me or some other intermediate of your choice when
there is an issue.
The problem with these cases is that they can be intentional
provocation or just a mistake or just a different point of view.
I am almost certain that at this point you will by default assume the
former and react accordingly which can only make things worse,
particularly if it happened to be a honest mistake.

I'm not particularly interested in making a distinction when it's above
"too much, makes people not want to read their mails" (I appreciate
it does matter to you and possibly others).
I'm not having a particularly thick skin anymore.
Also your "lol" could have been read as in insult, see below.

I brought it up also because that was one way to read the "lol".
It was not at all clear whether it was directed at the inappropriate
wording or whether you were making fun of the regression testing and
fixing that Carl _is_ doing a good bit of (not everything on-list).
