[MPlayer-users] An interesting note on QuickTime w/o wine

I may be behind on this, but I decided to try something crazy and
stuffed the QuickTime.qts and qtmlClient.dll files in the win32 directory,
then compiled mplayer normally.
It's probably not stable, but it *did* work, amidst a bunch of warnings
about the codec being uninitialized. I tried reencoding with "-ovc lavc
-lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4 -oac mp3lame", which ran for a second or so before
segfaulting. Tried it with "-oac pcm" and it worked perfectly. Again, I
don't recommend this unless you're either brave or crazy, but apparently
the QuickTime codec is very close to being stable for the standard
non-wine mplayer/mencoder. :) Thanks all!
Take care,
Steve
