[MPlayer-users] BUG?: Video stream not found in AVI

Since that initial bug query in January I tried several upgrades to more
recent versions of mplayer (as recommended), but none of these have yet
played an uncompressed AVI file for me :-(
These video files originate from Matlab for Linux
(http://www.mathworks.com), perhaps there's a fault in the way it writes
them? I would be interested to know if anyone else has managed to play
such files using mplayer.

I'm now running what I believe to be release 0.90 which Corey refers to in
his recent reply. I installed this as a binary RPM from
http://www.piorunek.pl/~dominik/linux/pkgs/mplayer/
(linked from http://www.mplayerhq.hu)
The site specifies the compiler etc. they used to build this mplayer. I'm
using Redhat 7.2, over AMD Duron 1Ghz.

Any advice on resolving this problem would be gratefully received!
My latest failure report is attached... I can supply video files to
reproduce this error if it will help in producing a bug fix.

Best regards,

John Collomosse (jpc at cs.bath.ac.uk)
