Yeah, but there is one problem here: with nandub, you can define quality
for video parts manually. You can do something like this with mencoder +
lavc, but not so much and this is _extermly_ user-unfriendly.
However, if you are making a rip for yourself, you can just increase
bitrate a little, get the same quality and save some time. If you are
not setting different encoding parameters or/and video filters for
different parts of the video and use the same for everything, mencoder
(actually, libavcodec) will give you almost the same, or maybe even
better quality than nandub + divx5.
