Hi I burned a copy of a dvd and when I try to play this dvd with the
following command I get the log at the end of this email.

mplayer -dumplog -v dvd://1

To make the copy I did the following commands:
1.
bob at bobc3 ~ $ readcd dev=1,0,0 f=vanhelsing.iso
Read speed: 11080 kB/s (CD 62x, DVD 8x).
Write speed: 11080 kB/s (CD 62x, DVD 8x).

repeated for every sector

I assume this has something to do with my cd burner not doing cloning.

What I really want to know is what goes wrong.
1. Is mplayer unable to decss it because of some uncopied data (disk id?)
2. Is the cd not precisely copied and the video_ts.ifo points to moved
sectors?

Here is the isoinfo for the iso extracted from the original dvd:

As you can see they are the same. Therefore the problem is not sectors
moving?

So what is the correct way to clone a dvd?
I know I can probably get a gui program for winxp that will probably
make a copy but I like to do it the hard way(command line) and flexible
way and learn in the process.

Also I read that using mplayer to dumpstream is a good way to decss the
video. But than you have to re author it for the dvd. Is there a recipe
for this?

thanks
bob
