[MPlayer-users] Timestamp and Frames

I want to extract frames with the timestamp of the appearance in the video, as 
i m doing some experiments for motion analysis. is there any way that can be 
done using mplayer.
currently i use

mplayer -vo jpeg dvd://1 -dvd-device /mnt/cdrom

which outputs a list of files with 8-digit frame number format. like 
00000001.jpg ... and so on. but i want some thing like

Linuxtimestamp.millisecond.jpg 

is it possible using mplayer / may be not but can it be some by simple 
iterations in the code.
