you mentioned swedish test file. Do you have an URL?


1st of all the swedish DTS test file I have (same as yours??) is 44.1 kHz 
sample format. AFAIK your FM801 card can't handle 44.1 and resamples all to 
48kHz, as shown in mplayers output.Keep in mind that any digital processing 
(resampling , volume altering, dither) will kill DTS data!
I use a cheap CMI8738 card that can output both 44.1 and 48 kHz

Also, if the test file is a DTS-WAV, try lossless encoding to flac first. 
This forces mplayer to not  look into wav data itself so its internal DTS 
decoding routines will not be used. This way, you don't need hwdts option
