Nevermind. I figured out this is a bug in the bttv driver, unless I'm doing
something wrong. I installed XP to another hard disk to make sure the card
worked, and it did. I researched BT878 as the best supported chipset for Linux,
so I bought a Pixelview BT878 card (card=37). I think I should have went with
the new Conexant chipset because now I'm stuck with a card that I cannot use
mencoder with :(
