No, there shouldn't, but I've learned that "weird" can crop up in
unexpected places. ^_^

Also a very possible answer. The fact that, as I discovered after
matthieu asked about it, I do not have any RTC-related modules for my
running kernel might also be relevant... it may be time I changed
kernels again. (I still haven't figured out when, if ever, it's
appropriate to change the kernel headers I use for compilation
purposes... I've seen arguments both for "whenever you change your
kernel" and "only when you change every single program on your system to
match the new headers", and neither seems practical to me.)

I don't have a TV card, I've never known what "DVB" is, and I don't have
a DVD drive (installed, anyway - I got one for Christmas, but I haven't
shut down to put it in yet). Still, I may be able to come up with
something to fit that.
