[MPlayer-users] High CPU with Yadif and latest nVidia driver

Hi All,

I am using mplayer on Windows XPsp3, to the fullest satisfaction for years
now. I am mostly watching mpeg2 TS files generated by my htpc application.
These files are TV recordings - so I need deinterlacing to watch them later.

So far I have been using Yadif to deinterlace on the fly. However, after
installing the latest nVidia driver, I have noticed that enabling Yadif now
uses 60-80% CPU on one of the cores of a Core2Duo CPU. Before this driver,
there was no substantial increase in CPU usage with/without Yadif.

As a side note, I would like to keep on using the new nvidia driver as the
old one did not support HW acceleration of H264 AVC (the coding format of my
local DVB-T provider). The new one supports CUDA, which is doing just that.

Is there anything I could do to resolve the CPU usage issue?

Thank you all,

Felix
